This is the story of how I almost ruined my family business.
Our drapery workroom was a homegrown success. With our fine, handmade draperies, we had found a true niche in the market. Still, shifting our focus a bit didn’t seem like such a bad idea. But what I realized after several ho-hum years, was that I had abandoned what made us great in the first place. I traded authenticity for a commodity.
