Last time we talked, I promised you more on one of my favorite fabrics to work with.
Velvet.
Specifically, I mentioned a gorgeous set of orange draperies. It’s several sets actually and they hang in my living room.
The rich orange fabric contrasts so well with the deep purple walls.
This fabric is vintage, but even new velvets make magnificent draperies. You’ll find that they hang so beautifully they seem to just float to the floor.
As you can see, I added some vintage trim to these.
I love pairing velvet with a textured, sparkling trim. It adds an elegance that makes the whole room feel totally luxurious.
Here’s a look at some other velvet draperies I’ve made recently. 
Don’t be afraid to be bold with your color choices. Draperies are a good place to start experimenting. If you look around your home and see a palette of beige or white or gray…considering a pop of color on your windows. Dull will be dazzling in no time!
